The Eagles Need More Hurts

Updated: Dec 8, 2020

  • The Philadelphia Eagles are 3-6-1 in the 2020-2021 NFL Season With Carson Wentz at quarterback.

  • The Eagles are in the lead for the Divisional title in the NFC East. All of the other teams, Dallas, Washington, and New York, are sitting at 3-7 on the year.

With another disappointing Carson Wentz performance for the Philadelphia Eagles vs the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, it is time for Doug Pederson to make the change at quarterback and start Jalen Hurts. The Eagles are hanging on to the Divisional title solely due to their tie against the Cincinnati Bengals in week 3, they can not afford any more careless play. And as great as Carson Wentz was in the 2017 regular season, before his injury, he has been nothing but careless this season. He leads the league in turnovers with 16, and is only completing 58% of his passes. For the Eagles to maintain the league title in the NFC East, they need to really think deeply about benching Carson Wentz and starting Jalen Hurts.

Jalen Hurts, the Eagles first-round draft pick out of Ohio State would bring in a new and energetic presence to the Eagles game plan. If he can use his legs and get rid of the ball when under pressure instead of making a dangerous throw, then he could be the spark the Eagles need to sneak into the playoffs.

With the 2018 Super Bowl Champions coming off back to back defeats it is time for the Eagles coaching staff to realize that Carson Wentz is not the answer for the future, and to determine if they made a good draft choice with Jalen Hurts.
